Pratt & Whitney Centennial

Vision

Developed and implemented a comprehensive year- long plan to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Pratt & Whitney to engage employees, customers, partners, media, community & government leaders, and the global aviation community. 

Action

Centennial Tour and Family Day. The tour featured the Centennial Exhibit, a 10-station experience celebrating Pratt & Whitney’s legacy and looking ahead as part of RTX. The physical exhibit reached more than 30,000 employees across 11 global sites and the virtual exhibit ensured all global employees could engage with the exhibit. Schedule of traveling exhibit is below. 

Steady cadence of content for internal and external channels.  

  • 100th anniversary branding elements and strategic media opportunities at key industry events throughout 2025. 

  • Paris Air Show: Create awareness through targeted branding moments, reaching key customers and all show audiences including:  

    • FlightGlobal special issue featuring a foreword by RTX Chairman and CEO Chris Calio, interviews with Pratt & Whitney leadership (Shane Eddy, Jill Albertelli, Maria Della Posta, Rick Deurloo, Rob Griffiths, Geoff Hunt) and RTX Leadership (Michael Winter). The issue will also include customer testimonials from CEOs of Boeing, Airbus, Delta Airlines and more.  

  • Historical plaque unveiling on July 25 at original site from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Capitol Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut, and site celebrations throughout Founders Week (week of July 21). The plaque unveiling ceremony will feature remarks by Shane Eddy and local community leaders, including a photo opportunity with local media.  

  • Family Day events held across P&W facilities globally throughout 2025 will also include a community event to invite local community leaders and media to see the Pratt & Whitney 100 Years of Flight travelling exhibit. Employees and their families are invited to a celebratory day at the East Hartford and Middletown sites, featuring the travelling exhibit, tours of the Pratt & Whitney facilities and additional activities (October 11).  

  • The Centennial was a central theme with branding across all tradeshows and events throughout 2025

The centennial celebration delivered on its core objectives to highlight its legacy, strengthen reputation, boost employee morale and strengthen customer confidence in its dependable, transformative technologies. P&W reached all employees, exceeded benchmarks across internal and external channels and generated positive visibility. The year concluded with strong momentum in employee, customer, partner and government engagement, underscoring the campaign's effectiveness in boosting morale and leadership for the next century.
